Built around a tough Series 2 6061 aluminium frame, the San Quentin 24" combines modern mountain bike geometry with 24" wheels, hydraulic disc brakes and a high-quality air suspension fork. For 2025/26, Marin has upgraded the bike with a Manitou J Unit Sport 100mm air suspension fork, giving lighter riders adjustable suspension performance and improved control when tackling rough trails, roots, jumps and technical terrain.
Built for Young Trail Shredders
The San Quentin 24" has been designed to feel like a genuine adult mountain bike, rather than a scaled-down kids' bike. Its stout aluminium frame is disc-brake specific, dropper-post compatible and built around a modern MTB setup, giving young riders the confidence to progress their skills as they explore the trails.
The Manitou J Unit Sport air fork provides 100mm of travel, adjustable rebound and an air spring that can be tuned to suit lighter riders. Combined with the wide 24" x 2.4" Delium Versatile tyres, the bike offers plenty of grip and control across everything from local bridleways and woodland trails to more challenging mountain bike terrain.
Smooth-Shifting 9-Speed Shimano CUES
A Shimano CUES 1 x 9-speed drivetrain provides a wide range of gears without the complication of a front derailleur. The 30-tooth narrow-wide chainring and Shimano CUES rear derailleur make it easy for young riders to find the right gear for climbing, descending and riding across varied terrain.
Stopping power comes from Shimano MT200 hydraulic disc brakes, with 160mm rotors front and rear. These provide reliable, controlled braking performance while remaining easy to operate for smaller hands.
Designed Around Smaller Riders
Marin has paid particular attention to the contact points and riding position of the San Quentin 24". The bike features a one-piece saddle and seatpost combination, helping to create a lower standover height and ride position that is better suited to younger riders.
A narrower 580mm riser handlebar, small-diameter grips and kids-specific nylon pedals further improve comfort, control and confidence.
The wheels feature double-wall alloy rims with a 26mm internal width, while the Delium 24" x 2.4" tyres are tubeless compatible, giving the bike plenty of scope for future upgrades as your young rider develops.
