At the heart of the Alpine Trail XR is Marin's MultiTrac 2 LT suspension platform, paired with a RockShox Super Deluxe Coil Ultimate rear shock. The Alpine Trail XR features a mixed-wheel mullet setup, combining a 29" front wheel with a 27.5" rear wheel. This gives you the benefits of a large front wheel for maintaining momentum and rolling over obstacles, alongside the lively, manoeuvrable feel of a smaller rear wheel.
Marin has also designed the Series 4 frame with an impressive level of adjustability. The adjustable headset allows riders to alter the head tube angle, while the frame provides the ability to change the bottom bracket and chainstay configuration. The bike can even be configured to run a 29" rear wheel, giving experienced riders the opportunity to fine-tune the Alpine Trail to suit their riding style and local terrain.
The frame also features integrated Bear Box downtube storage, complete with a zippered nylon bag for carrying essential trail equipment. A robust 34.9mm seatpost diameter provides additional strength and is compatible with modern long-travel dropper posts.
